new year, new start

I've decided to do lots of things this year - but blogging wasn't one of them. I woke up this morning and thought, why not! Maybe sharing some things here would give me more motivation. It feels so meaningless to do your make up and wear nice clothes if you're going nowhere - at least I could share them online, and it's always been awesome to communicate with my followers and other bloggers!

At first I should give you small update as it's been like forever since I last shared anything. Last year went by so fast, nothing happened but still at the same time, everything happened. Everything's changed and life is so different now.

So, I'm a dressmaker now. It's about impossible to get a seamstress job here.. If you wanna make clothes for a living, you should start your own business but that's definitely not an easy, stable and secure way to make a living. Maybe someday..
Currently I'm working in a clothing store - I really like it too. I should sew more so I wouldn't lose all my skills, and that's definitely what I'm working on a lot more this year.

I even have an industrial sewing machine and overlocker at home now!

The biggest thing is that - I'm still living in Finland! All those years that I had waited for my graduation and move to London... But still I'm here! Things don't always go the way you had planned, there's always something unexpected waiting for the perfect moment to happen...

So that's my life now; living in Helsinki with my girlfriend Jessica and my dog. We have a perfect home and I really like living here. Hoping not to get an overdose of purple! Almost everything is purple here - from my hair to the walls and even to the toilet seat cover - also the christmas tree was purple! (Unfortunately the pictures don't really show the real colours...)

I didn't really do much last year. I didn't spend much time sewing, and the times that I wore nice make up - I can easily count them on the fingers of one hand. Of course I did wear make up almost everyday, but it was only some black smokey eye. Nothing bold and exciting and colourful.

 I've felt so inspired and motivated lately and wanted to really start doing things again. Especially making clothes - that's what I really wanna do. Also, I wanna start experimenting with make up again. When I post pictures of my outfits to Lookbook - of course there has to be also matching make up to make the look complete!

It's good that my collie Nana got a friend now, she's been alone since Leevi (our rottweiler) passed away.. Sometimes Nana likes Rölli, but sometimes not.. She's jealous because he's getting so much attention! Haha.

Having such a tiny, energitic puppy here..

I wasn't so excited about getting a new dog.. Because I didn't want to get a westie, I wanted a rottweiler! As we've always before had a rottweiler. But well.. I have to admit that this little white thing, he's very cute! ♥

savings are safe

I got to satisfy my sudden hunger for shopping when I went to H&M yesterday but saved money as I found nothing! It's actually just a good thing. I'm not supposed to buy anything now as I'm saving money because I want to go to London again.

And all those dresses I wanted were sold from the online shop too. So what I learned from this: If I see something I want, I should buy it immadiately because tomorrow it could be too late.

Yesterday was nice. I went to see a friend before going to Tampere. And in Tampere, I accidentally bumped into a friend I haven't seen since summer holiday! So I spend some time with her and we did some catch up. Again, listening to how is she doing.. It made me realise how easy and simple my life is. There's no such relationship dramas in my life.

And.. We got a puppy today! I'm going to take more pictures tomorrow in the daylight.

unusual morning after a sleepless night

I can't even remember when was the last time I've slept well and enough. Over a month ago? Don't know what's wrong with me.. Anyway, last night wasn't much better either. I woke up four times in the middle of night, for nothing. Then after 7 o'clock when I woke up again, I couldn't fall back asleep.. It was so frustrating, lying there in the bed without being able to fall asleep even though I'm so damn tired.

So I got up and decided to do something unusual: go out for a walk with my dog. At 8 in Saturday morning. in winter?? Yes. I have to take the dog out 3 times a day, but usually I don't stay out longer than 5 minutes because it's so cold in winter, I hate it.. Anyway, this morning we went out for over 45-minutes walk! It was freeeezing... About -15°C. I wore clothes almost enough to stay almost warm.. But there's nothing that would keep my face warm! And breathing so freezing air, it hurts too.. When we got home after our walk, my black scarf, hair, eyelashes and eyebrows were all white! Not because of the snow but.. Well, I don't know that word in finnish either, but you know, when it's been a cold night and in the morning the grass is white, but it's not snow that makes it white.. Grass is something I can't see here in winters because of the snow, but anyway.. My face was the same colour than my jacket, red!

I thought about taking my camera with me but I decided not to, I guess it would have died there because it's so freezing! So I took few pictures with my phone, though I usually never use the camera of my phone because of the very bad quality.. But it doesn't look so bad when the pictures are so small!
