Here's a look of the day from last week! I had a day off, and spent it at home dressing up and taking pictures. This is me trying to be colourful… I've been talking about adding colour to my wardrobe for a year or two, and all I've got is couple of blue garments. Well, you have to start  somewhere.

I miss my old balcony - it was so easy to take good pictures there in perfect daylight! Our new home doesn't have a balcony, and it was far too cold to go outside to take pictures. So, unfortunately I couldn't get any good pictures of my make up this time - thanks to the not-so-good light inside. But there's more make up looks coming soon, hopefully with better pictures then!

Camera stand - one more things to add to my 'the best things ever invented'- list! It makes it so much easier and more fun to take pictures, you can take pictures anywhere you want and doesn't have to worry about where to put your camera! Can't wait till it's spring/summer and I can go outside to use it and take pictures anywhere!

new year, new start

I've decided to do lots of things this year - but blogging wasn't one of them. I woke up this morning and thought, why not! Maybe sharing some things here would give me more motivation. It feels so meaningless to do your make up and wear nice clothes if you're going nowhere - at least I could share them online, and it's always been awesome to communicate with my followers and other bloggers!

At first I should give you small update as it's been like forever since I last shared anything. Last year went by so fast, nothing happened but still at the same time, everything happened. Everything's changed and life is so different now.

So, I'm a dressmaker now. It's about impossible to get a seamstress job here.. If you wanna make clothes for a living, you should start your own business but that's definitely not an easy, stable and secure way to make a living. Maybe someday..
Currently I'm working in a clothing store - I really like it too. I should sew more so I wouldn't lose all my skills, and that's definitely what I'm working on a lot more this year.

I even have an industrial sewing machine and overlocker at home now!

The biggest thing is that - I'm still living in Finland! All those years that I had waited for my graduation and move to London... But still I'm here! Things don't always go the way you had planned, there's always something unexpected waiting for the perfect moment to happen...

So that's my life now; living in Helsinki with my girlfriend Jessica and my dog. We have a perfect home and I really like living here. Hoping not to get an overdose of purple! Almost everything is purple here - from my hair to the walls and even to the toilet seat cover - also the christmas tree was purple! (Unfortunately the pictures don't really show the real colours...)

I didn't really do much last year. I didn't spend much time sewing, and the times that I wore nice make up - I can easily count them on the fingers of one hand. Of course I did wear make up almost everyday, but it was only some black smokey eye. Nothing bold and exciting and colourful.

 I've felt so inspired and motivated lately and wanted to really start doing things again. Especially making clothes - that's what I really wanna do. Also, I wanna start experimenting with make up again. When I post pictures of my outfits to Lookbook - of course there has to be also matching make up to make the look complete!

purple & red make up

I was organizing my wardrobe on the other day and realised that I have over 100 clothes on my racks - and I only wear about 30 of them! I have to do something about it .. I suppose I'd be too lazy to do something similar to the outfit challenge I did year or two ago.. But I will start to like all my clothes, little by little I'll create new outfits and maybe do some refashioning too. Who knows where I'm going to end up in few months, after I finish my school, and I don't wanna take any waste of space with me when I go.

I also wanna start wearing more colours, other than just black and purple everyday ..

This look is actually inspired by my dog's red collar and purple leash; I was going out for a walk and noticed how lovely those colours look together. And it's been ages since I last wore anything red, or did my eyebrows with some other colour than black!

Make up of the day: purple and green eyeshadow, huge eyebrows, long winged liner, fake eyelashes and black lips with a touch of blue.

I really like purple & green colour combo, but it wasn't until today when I actually got around doing a look with these colours together.  I also tried a pair of fake eyelashes I got from my friend Tommi like forever ago. I think I should start wearing fake eyelashes more often! They really complete any make up look and make it more dramatic. I've always thought it takes too much time and effort to put them on properly.. But it's not really that difficult, it just take practise!

More outfit & make up posts - that's what I'm going to try to do more often from now on, again.

This is the latest jacket I made. Purple wool fabric, black lace and leather. I'm very happy with how it turned out, though the collar isn't as perfect as I'd have wanted it to be.. I love fake leather, but I hate sewing it!

And here's two other purple outfits. The left one has been my favourite outfit lately, I wear it almost all the time! The outfit on the right is the one I was wearing today. It's been like forever since I wore anything like that, as I've only wanted to wear some large shirts and ties recently.. But today I felt like trying something different again. I've lots of clothes, would be a waste to leave most of them just hanging in the racks and collecting dust!

My make up of the day was also more dramatic than usually. I've been super lazy when it comes to make up.. Haven't done any extreme or colourful looks lately, just simple black smokey eye look everyday. Boring.

I have to admit, I'm so obsessed with my iPhone that I even used Instagram to edit the pics! Unfortunately it automatically crops the pictures so I can't use it for absolutely everything though..

Heyy everyone ! I'm here again, letting you guys know that I'm still alive, even though I've been absent lately!

There's been a lot going on lately ... School, friends etc. I've been super busy, and tired .. And I also have to take a little (or actually quite long break from blogging now!)  I'm going to London on Friday, and staying there for 4 months!! I'm doing my practical training there, I'll work in Minna Hepburn's studio!

I don't have a laptop or anything while I'm in London, so I won't be able to blog from there ... (and, I suppose there's going to be soooo many things to blog about when I come back in January, so don't know if I can get anything done then either, hahh)




So, here's few random pics and info of some things that've happened lately.

My friend Dille moved to Tampere to study, and I've seen him few times! It's so funny, he used to live about 800 km from me, he was my furthest friend from Finland.. And now he's the closest! Doesn't he look amazing with my pink net top and black nipple tapes! ;)

I wanted to go ice cream shopping.. And my brother took me on a motorcycle ride! It was my second time on motorcycle, and so scary...

My brother's fiance and Tommi baked me a cake while I was on a motorcycle ride with my brother!! Hehh.. They didn' use any recipe, they just made it .. There was meant to be a frosting too, but they were too impatient to wait until it has cooled enough, so the frosting melted ... 

 

 

The cake was delicious (even though it might not look like so), especially with ice cream! My mum is also going to bake me a real birthday/farewell cake on Thurday!

There was some anime convention in Tampere where Tommi went. He played Squalo, and the leather jacket he's wearing - it's made by me! :D Doesn't he look stunning ♥

Yeah, I also had my 19th birthday on Monday. Nothing special happened, I didn't have a party or anything .. Went to a bar with my dad on Sunday though, it was nice! Many free drinks.. And this one also had a sparkler in it! Didn't realise to take a picture of it while it was burning though ..

I also got a new haircut! Now my both sides are short! This is the side that used to be long! Yeah, that happens when I start to think about growing long hair again.. It just gets shorter!

new hair & Tammerfest look

I got a new haircut a while ago. I had thought that I might want to grow my hair long again ... And what do do then;  of course, cut it short! Hahh. It's been about 6 years since my hair was as short as it's now. At first I felt a bit ... naked without my longer hair, but now I'm quite used it. Perfect hair for summer. I always wore ponytails at home, because it's much more comfortable, but now I don't have to because my hair is so short it feels like it's on ponytail all the time.

I wanted to try some bold make up look and different hairdo for Tammerfest, but what a surprise, it was a rainy day so there was no other option for hairdo than wear a hat... And, I was veeery tired so ended up with a simple make up look too.

I wore my black leggins sleeves and the purple dress and little vest that I've made, with those rose lace leggins. The colour of the day was obviosly purple, as I also had a purple hoodie as a jacket and purple scarf..

I haven't worn any make up for almost two weeks! I haven't gone anywhere and haven't done anything special, and haven't felt like playing with make up just for fun either. I guess my skin has been happy that I've given it a chance to rest and be fresh for a while, but..

Now it's time to say goodbye to natural beauty again!
